Renewables Obligation Certificates (ROCs)
11-01-2012
The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC)’s consultation on renewable energy re-banding, (announced on 20 October), focuses on scalable lower-cost renewable technologies that will deliver the majority of electricity the Government needs to meet its 2020 targets - and aims to ensure developers will continue to receive appropriate support when market conditions change and innovations develop.

While some find the forecast electrifying, others may fear a damp spell in the doldrums is in store as Government reiterates its commitment to marine sectors - but urges the offshore wind sector to cut costs.

Royal Haskoning's energy experts have produced a White Paper on the government's revised ROC allocations. The paper offers a balanced and informed view of the implications of the announcement across different sectors of the industry.
