Royal HaskoningDHV consolidates regional base
Place North West have published a news article about Royal HaskoningDHV's recent Manchester Office Move. The Manchester office has moved from 2,000 sq ft on the eighth floor to 3,200 sq ft, as the headcount has grown from 14 to 25 staff. The firm offers a range of services covering transport planning, engineering design services, archaeology, air quality, noise and vibration, environmental impact assessment, permitting, land quality, carbon management and sustainability. RWM 2012: A successful three days for Royal Haskoning
Royal Haskoning exhibited at the three day Resource and Waste Management (RWM) Conference in partnership with CIWM, in Birmingham, UK. Over 14,000  visitors, more than 650 exhibitors and 100-plus expert speakers met to explore the latest industry developments that affect everyone from local authorities and landfills to retailers and recycling consultants. This event was deemed a success by our Director of Business Development for Waste, Andrew Dyne. Along with exhibiting, Royal Haskoning had three speakers on the conference programme, sharing their fields of expertise with a wider audience. Read more

Forres (River Findhorn & Pilmuir) Flood Alleviation Scheme Final phase of Moray flood defences gets go-ahead
The Moray Council has given the go-ahead to the Forres (River Findhorn & Pilmuir) Flood Alleviation Scheme. This, the fifth and final part of the Moray Flood Alleviation schemes, is part of a broader flood prevention programme put together by The Moray Council for an area that has suffered greatly from flooding in the past. New Storm Surge Barriers Closed to Protect New Orleans
Seven years on to the day the hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, residents have weathered the deluge delivered by hurricane Isaac. Many of the residents of New Orleans had decided not to evacuate, placing their trust in the city’s $14.5 billion flood protection system. Based on information about Isaac, the US Army Corps of Engineers in New Orleans decided to close the storm surge barriers that protect the city. While Isaac managed to blow down trees and take out the power to three quarters of the city, it did not manage to breach the defences. Read more

Liverpool victorious as new terminal launches first liner in 40 years
For the first time in 40 years, cruise liners are returning to the Liverpool Pier Head, thanks to a campaign by the city’s newly elected Mayor that has led to the opening of a new temporary baggage and customs facility at the city’s Princes Parade. Commissioned by Liverpool City Council and designed by maritime engineering consultancy Royal Haskoning, the opening of the new facility means cruise companies can now schedule trips that start and end in the heart of Liverpool. Auckland awards Queen’s Wharf redevelopment of Shed 10 concept design for cruise terminal expansion
International engineering consultants Royal Haskoning and New Zealand-based architect, Jasmax, have won a prestigious commission to design the redevelopment for Auckland’s Queen’s Wharf Shed 10 cruise terminal. Funded by Council-owned company Waterfront Auckland, the multi-million dollar redevelopment project will transform the existing terminal at Queen’s Wharf into a world-class facility for New Zealand’s thriving cruise industry, and provide an attractive space for events.
