Air quality

Exposure to even low levels of air pollution can have serious long term effects on human health, in particular, increase in the likelihood of respiratory, cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Most urban air pollution is caused by road traffic, but other sources include industry, airports and shipping.  Air quality can be a material consideration in determining planning applications and is a key part of environmental impact assessment and environmental permitting.

Our air quality experts handle issues such as urban air quality, odour, dust nuisance and the effects of pollution on sensitive habitats. Services include monitoring surveys, emissions inventories and detailed dispersion modelling.
