ICHCA International Biennial Conference

Dedicated to the promotion of safety, security, environmental protection and efficiency, ICHCA’s biennial conference looks into the handling of cargo by all modes and during all phases of the international transport chains.

Taking place over 4-days, the event welcomes experts from across the industry to speak on the hot topics of the developing fields.

Royal Haskoning’s maritime expert, Richard Marks is presenting on Day 2, session ‘Costing the Earth – can we or can we not afford environmental improvements’. His talk is entitled; ‘Will climate change affect cargo handling?’.

Richard has 40 years professional experience with a port client, consultants and contractors. He has undertaken feasibility and planning studies and the design and construction management for a variety of marine and port projects including oil terminals, bulk handling terminals and RoRo and container berths. Recognised by the Ports industry as an expert on the planning, design, safety and procurement of RoRo facilities, he is a member of the International Safety Panel of the International Cargo Handling Coordination Association.

He is currently Sector Leader for the Company's work equipment auditing activities.
