Water Control Structures
We undertake the design of water control structures, such as weirs, pumping stations, reservoirs, barriers and barrages.
Our skills include feasibility assessment, preparation of business cases, design development and detailed geotechnical, structural, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical design.

Weirs
We assess alternative approaches and design weirs as part of new flood risk management schemes and prepare refurbishment and maintenance plans for existing structures. Our engineers provide our clients with the data to make informed choices regarding finance and operational requirements throughout the design process and the life of their assets.  Our skills include detailed geotechnical, structural, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical design.

Pumping stations
We assess alternative approaches for the replacement, refurbishment or maintenance of pumping stations as part of flood risk management schemes. Our engineers provide our clients with the data to make informed choices regarding finance and operational requirements throughout the design process and the life of their assets.  Our skills include detailed geotechnical, structural, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical design.

Reservoirs
Our experience includes the design of a number of embankment dams for flood storage reservoirs, in accordance with the 1975 Reservoirs Safety Act. We recently designed flood storage reservoirs for three locations in North East Scotland.  We also assess the likelihood and potential implications of failure of reservoir embankment dams, including numerical hydraulic modelling of the resulting flood inundation.
