Retaining Wall Slope Stabilisation
Royal Haskoning’s experience of retaining wall design and slope stability assessments stems from our work designing large quay walls, earth embankments for dams or flood defences and cliff stabilisation works.
This knowledge is applied across a broad spectrum of projects and schemes. Recent experience includes the design of new and replacement quay walls retaining in excess of 20 metres height of soil, the design of soil nails to stabilise large slopes in Mercia Mudstone, the design of deep excavations in London Clay and the design of embankment dams for flood alleviation schemes.

Examples of design services recently provided include:
  • sheet pile walls and combi-walls for numerous maritime projects worldwide
  • large diaphragm walls for a deep quay at Bandar Abbas, Iran
  • large gravity retaining walls, particularly in the Middle East
  • contiguous bored pile walls
  • flood defence embankments and walls
  • design and construction supervision of embankment dams
  • ground anchorages, soil nails and rock bolts
  • slope stabilisation by groundwater control, reinforcement or regrading
  • soil and rock slope surveys, instrumentation and analysis
